5th Annual Colossal Coastal Roller Derby Expo set for August 24th

The Fifth Annual Colossal Coastal Roller Derby Expo will take place in the Wildwoods Convention Center on Saturday, August 24 – where hundreds of roller derby skaters will compete in hard-hitting, adrenalin-fueled derby games throughout the entire day.

Below is the line-up for Saturday’s open-to-the-public games:

4-5:30 p.m. 
Rookie Co-Ed Game
(Jersey Shore Jolter’s Award)
The Tsunami Mamis vs. The Sand Slingers

5:30-6:45 p.m. 
Intermediate Female Game
(Tram Car Crippler’s Cup)
The Beach Bunny Brawlers vs. The Tough Tikis

6:45-8 p.m. 
Advanced Co-Ed Game
(Doo Wallop Award)
The UV Slays vs. The Bonflyers

MAIN EVENT – 8-11 p.m.
Male and Female All-Star Game (Wildwood Warrior Wave)

Hundreds of skaters from all over the country will converge in the Wildwoods for a weekend of roller derby workshops, games, fun, sun and various social events. From early-morning boot camps along the beach, to gripping games in the state-of-the-art Oceanfront Arena overlooking the beach and ocean, the Colossal Coastal Roller Derby Expo, hosted by M.A.D.E. – the Modern Athletic Derby Endeavor – is a one-of-a-kind roller derby event.

Tickets to watch the games are $12 online or $15 at the door; students, military, children under 12 and groups of six or more are $10; children 6 and under are free.

The Tourism Authority operates the Wildwoods Convention Center and acts as the island’s destination marketing organization overseeing the development, research, planning, marketing, advertising, promotion, public and media relations encompassing the tourism, meeting and convention industry in the Wildwoods.
