With the annual New Jersey Top Ten Beaches survey taking a hiatus this year in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, NJ.com is running a series of "Best of the Shore" polls.
In what should come as no surprise, the Wildwoods' beaches claimed victory in the first poll, notching 36.5 percent of the total vote. Long Beach Island came in second at 29.4.
Wildwood has been named the state's best beach in four of the five annual votes conducted by the New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium.
