PRESS RELASE
More than 340 kids of all ages “ran wild” on the Boardwalk June 28 in Morey’s Piers’ 2nd Annual Wild Half Mile Kids’ Marathon – a racing event that attracted 348 kids to the Wildwoods Boardwalk for a morning of exercise, fitness and fun.
Morey’s Piers invited kids to get fit by participating in their own "marathon," The Wild Half Mile, on Thursday, June 28 – a run for kids 12 and under. As part of the event, racers in The Wild Half Marathon showed their “wild side” by dressing in animal print and wearing animal ears, tails and noses. Free face painting was also provided so kids could look like their favorite animals.
“Our second annual Wild Half Mile was a huge success,” said Kristel Fillmore, Events and Entertainment Manager. “Kids of all ages filled the Wildwoods Boardwalk and Morey’s Piers to race, showing that fitness is still a huge part of many kids’ lives; something Morey’s is proud to promote.”
The Wild Half Mile is a lead-up event to Morey’s Piers’ first-ever Wild Half Marathon, scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 26. Registration for The Wild Half is open at www.moreyspiers.com.
