PRESS RELEASE
WILDWOOD — On Thurs., Aug. 5, the summer heat wave in Wildwood will be interrupted by cool Blizzard® activity when the community comes together for Dairy Queen’s Miracle Treat Day to make miracles and raise funds for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
The Dairy Queen® at Cresse Avenue on the Boardwalk will donate the proceeds from every Blizzard Treat sold that day to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, one of 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children’s hospitals.
The Wildwood Dairy Queen has been a supporter of Children's Miracle Network since 2005. "Every summer, the entire community looks forward to Miracle Treat Day when we turn Blizzard Treats into smiles for the kids at the hospital who really need our support," said Rick D'Amico.
“This year is particularly noteworthy for Miracle Treat Day because we are celebrating the 25th birthday of the world-famous Blizzard Treat.”
The Cresse Avenue Dairy Queen was also selected as the only Dairy Queen location in the state to be visited by Miss New Jersey, Ashleigh Udalovas. Miss New Jersey will be at the Wildwood Dairy Queen from noon to 1 p.m., signing autographs and taking pictures with the many smiling faces supporting Miracle Treat Day.
“We are very excited and honored to have Miss New Jersey here to help us with this great event,” said D'Amico.
Although the new Oreo® Brownie Earthquake® Blizzard Treat is the Blizzard of the Month for August, the original Oreo will be featured as the Miracle Treat Day “Blizzard of the Day.”
The Oreo Blizzard Treat still reigns as the most popular flavor since the first one was served upside down with a spoon in 1985. All currently featured flavors will be available on Miracle Treat Day.
