A remix of "Wild One" was released on the one-year anniversary of the singer's passing
WILDWOOD - ”Wild One” is once again in the airwaves as a remix of the song was released today by Tommy C. Bobby Rydell recorded the song with Tommy C in 2022. just before his passing. To commemorate the late singer on the anniversary of his death, “Wild One” has been uploaded to all streaming platforms and thevoiceoftribute.com.
“It was a great honor to record not only 'Wild One' but also a remix of 'Sway,' with the icon Bobby Rydell,” said Tommy C. “I hope Bobby’s fans enjoy this remix and I am excited for younger generations to hear the song. There’s no better way to commemorate great hits of the past than to breathe new life into them to attract the next audience of Rydell fans.”
In Rydell’s decades-long career, he earned 34 Top 40 hits, placing him in the top 5 artists of his era by Billboard Magazine. His hit singles include “Volare”, “Wild One”, “We Got Love”, “Kissin’ Time”, “Swingin’ School”, “Wildwood Days”, and “Forget Him” which led Rydell to sell over 25 million records. The Philadelphia native is recognized around the world.
Tommy C, known as The Voice of Tribute, is a New Jersey local who takes pride in keeping the music of the past alive. Having been a fan of Bobby since he was a child, he had always dreamed of meeting the singer. Thanks to his manager, Joe Montello, that dream not only became a reality but turned into much more when he went into the studio to record with Rydell.
The 26 year old now also has the honor of being the official spokesperson for the newly formed Bobby Rydell Foundation. The Foundation is dedicated to preserving Rydell’s legacy and promoting musical education among urban schools by providing scholarships. Their first project of building a permanent statue of Rydell in Wildwood was announced last month. A benefit will take place on April 30th at The Bolero Hotel to raise funds for the organization.
