City of Wildwood celebrates Christmas in July 2022

PRESS RELEASE

WILDWOOD - What's better than Christmas parades, holiday shopping, music and food?

Doing it in the summertime... on the Boardwalk... near the beach... and in the City of Wildwood this Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 10 am to 6 pm.

Wildwood's First Annual Christmas in July kicks off with a Golf Cart Parade on the Boardwalk from 10 am - 12 pm. The Golf Cart Parade route starts on the Boardwalk by the iconic Wildwoods Sign. The Woodlands String Band will kick off the parade and a Sightseer Tramcar will lead the way while Christmas music plays along the route from 10 - 11 am.

The parade will exit the Boardwalk at Schellenger Avenue and proceed to Ocean Avenue accompanied by the string band. The golf carts will create a semi-circle in front of the Convention Center at Fox Park. The band will play "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" as Mr. & Mrs. Claus' golf cart enters the park. Guests will enjoy crafters, music, food, a face painter and other activities at Fox Park until 6 pm.

"We really wanted to create a fun, new event that had wide appeal to everyone from Wildwood residents and visitors to neighboring towns," stated Special Events Director Alicia Deluca. "All are welcome to enjoy crafts, eat delicious summer favorites and rock around the Christmas tree with music by DJ Eric Bartello."

Added Commissioner Krista Fitzsimons: "Everyone loves the Christmas in Holly Beach Park event each December. We wanted to recreate that community spirit in the summer so our second homeowners and visitors could celebrate with us. Maybe we can even entice them to return to their 'other' home in December."
