Captain Kidd Pirate Day returns to North Wildwood on Saturday, May 14th - with a bonus bonfire at night!

AAAAAARRRR
you looking forward to Captain Kidd Pirate Day?

Every year, we enjoy seeing this event on the Wildwoods’ spring calendar, and not just because its arrival means that Memorial Day is right around the corner!

It’s a fun, festive day of activities in its own right, with an added bonus this year guaranteed to warm your shivering timbers.     … UNG.

Captain Kidd returns to the friendly shores of North Wildwood on Saturday, May 14, to lead his traditional Boardwalk parade followed by a treasure hunt on the beach. Afterwards, the swashbuckling sailor is hanging around for the inaugural Captain Kidd Bonfire, hosted by the North Wildwood Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1.

The parade steps off at 11 am (rain or shine) and will proceed north from 26th & Boardwalk. Children 12 & under must be registered and dressed in pirate-themed costume to participate. On-site check-in and costume judging will begin at 10 am.

The treasure hunt, for children 12 and under, will follow the parade at 19th & Beach.

Lots of prizes will be awarded, including cash, bikes, weekend getaways and gift certificates.

For more information or to register for the parade, call 609-522-2955.

The Captain Kidd Bonfire will take place at 1st & Surf Avenue Beach from 6 - 10 pm. Admission will be $10 for adults, $2 for children under 12.

Captain Kidd will be available for photos from 6 - 8 pm. We’re foreseeing some very interesting Christmas card possibilities here.

Rain date for the bonfire is Saturday, May 21 from 6 - 10 pm.
