Hosted annually by the North Wildwood Beach Patrol, the Beschen-Callahan Memorial Lifeguard Races take place this Friday, July 13 at 15th Avenue Beach, starting at 6 PM.
It is FREE to all spectators.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the event, which features beach patrol teams from Cape May County competing in swimming and rowing races.
Sea Isle City won last year's competition. For a full list of past winners, click HERE.
The Beschen-Callahan Races were created in 1969 to honor two lifeguards who gave their lives fighting in the Vietnam War, James Beschen and Michael Callahan.
