WILD Weekend: Morey's opens, egg hunts, beach bonfire, and more...


Easter Weekend is here, and with it comes the traditional, "unofficial" opening of the Boardwalk!

A number of businesses will make their 2018 debuts over the next three days, highlighted by Morey's Piers - which will host Opening Day and Easter Celebrations at Mariner's Pier on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

There will also be a family beach bonfire event for the entire family on Friday night, and three egg hunts for the kids - two on Saturday and one on Sunday.

"War at the Jersey Shore" National Youth Wrestling Championships

The Atlantic Coast Wrestling Association will host the 15th Annual “War at the South Jersey Shore” National Folkstyle Wrestling Championships at the Wildwoods Convention Center this Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31. Competitions will take place from 8 am until 7 pm on both Friday and Saturday. An admission fee will be charged at the door.

Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce's Family Fun Night & Bonfire

The Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce will once again host a Family Fun Night & Bonfire fundraiser on the Wildwood Beach (at Rio Grande Avenue.) Rain/wind date is Saturday. Event will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. -be sure to bring a blanket or beach chair. Entrance will be at the south side of the Wildwoods Convention Center on Rio Grande Avenue. The event will feature music, a family game garden (including Cornhole, Ladder Ball, Checkers, Jenga & Connect Four) and a giant bonfire. S'mores pits and food & snack stations will be available for an additional fee.

Admission to the event is $10 per person (13 years and older) and $5 for kids 12 and younger. Tickets can be purchased in advance at 609-729-4000 or online, or at the entrance of event (cash only.) All proceeds benefit the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce Mission Statement in support of the betterment of the Wildwoods.

Elks Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Children 11 and under can hunt for eggs and gather candy and prizes on the beach at 19th Avenue in North Wildwood, starting at noon on Saturday.

Greater Wildwood Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt

Children 12 and under are welcome to dig for eggs containing toys buried in the sand. Special "golden eggs" contain bigger prizes. Also starting a noon on Saturday.

Ed's Funcase Easter Sunday Egg Hunt in the Hay

On Easter Sunday, Ed's Funcade will host its Easter Egg Hunt in the Hay, which will take place in fronot of the arcade at 23rd & Boardwalk from noon to 1:30 pm. Children under the age of 12 are welcome go hunt for eggs for a chance to win prizes. This is also a FREE event.

Morey's Piers Easter Celebration

Celebrate Easter with the whole family at Mariner's Landing (Boardwalk & Schellenger Avenue) from noon to 5 pm. Visit the Mr. and Mrs. Bunny at the Parent's Pavilion and enjoy strolling entertainment from stilt walkers to jugglers and more. Face painting will be available from 1 pm to 5 pm, and children 12 and under will be able to pick an Easter egg for a chance to win prizes (while supplies last).
