Post-storm: All is well in the Wildwoods

Minor flooding on Delaware Avenue, courtesy North Wildwood Police Department
UPDATED  -  2:15 pm

The sun is shining brightly over the Wildwoods this morning; the storm has passed.

Despite howling winds that shook structures all over the island overnight, there are no reports of injury or major damage.

Some wind damage and minor flooding in areas prone to such have been reported, but the general feeling is: "It could have been much worse."

This morning's high tide produced waves that crested the seawall at 2nd & JFK Blvd. in North Wildwood, but no inland concerns were noted.

As with all nor'easters and storms that bring coastal flooding, beach erosion is a certainty. To what extent the damage is, and how it might effect the ongoing seawall extension, remains to be determined.

The next high tides are at 9:16 pm tonight and 9:34 am tomorrow.

Flooding on the west (bay) side of the island may yet be an issue today. A Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 2 a.m.

Wind gusts of up to approximately 35 mph today are still being predicted.
