On Deck: Easter Weekend events in the Wildwoods

It may not qutie feel like Spring yet, but the new season has arrived and Easter Weekend - the traditional "opening of the Boardwalk" - is up next!

In addition to the opening of more businesses, the coming holiday weekend will feature THREE Easter Egg Hunts, as well as Morey's Piers' Opening Day and Easter celebrations...

Saturday, March 31

Families can choose from two seperate Easter egg hunts on Saturday - both starting at noon.

Children 11 and under can hunt for eggs and gather candy and prizes at the Elks Annual Easter Egg Hunt, on the beach at 19th Avenue in North Wildwood.

Several blocks south, the Greater Wildwood Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt will welcome children 12 and under. Eggs containing toys (along with special "golden eggs" containing bigger prizes) will be buried in the sand. Rain date is the following day, Easter Sunday.

Both egg hunts are FREE to participate in.

Sunday, April 1

On Easter Sunday, Ed's Funcade will host its Easter Egg Hunt in the Hay, which will take place in fronot of the arcade at 23rd & Boardwalk from noon to 1:30 pm. Children under the age of 12 are welcome go hunt for eggs for a chance to win prizes. This is also a FREE event.

Morey's Piers will host its Opening Day Easter Celebration from noon to 5 pm at Mariner's Pier (Boardwalk & Schellenger Avenue), helping the Wildwoods kick off the spring season. In addition to amusement rides, eateries, shops and games, entertainment will feature strolling stilt walkers, jugglers and face painters. Families can take pictures with the Easter Bunny at the Parent's Pavillion, while children 12 and under can pick out an egg for a chance to win great prizes.


The Greater Wildwood Tourism Improvement & Development Authority (GWTIDA) reminds that Easter Weekend is a great time to "scout out" your summer vacation plans.
