Cape May-Lewes Ferry services to resume tomorrow - Thursday, January 11th

After several days of suspended operations and limited schedules due to ice build-up in the bay, the Cape May-Lewes Ferry will return to full service tomorrow, Thursday, January 11.

The ferry has been closed since January 4.

Warming temperatures and the ice-breaking efforts of a tug allowed the ferry to sail on single departures to Cape May and Lewes this afternoon.

“These past few days, Mother Nature has provided some relief with higher temperatures and much calmer winds,” Jennifer Shivers, assistant business director, wrote in a statement.

“The tugboat, Northstar Integrity, really helped to break up the ice. Conditions are improving and given the weather forecast, we expect to resume service across the Delaware Bay.”

Tomorrow's schedule is as follows:

Departing Cape May...

10:30 a.m.  -  2:30 p.m.  - 6:00 p.m.

Departing Lewes, Delaware...

12:15 p.m.  -  4:15 p.m.  -  7:45 p.m.
