The North Wildwood Police Department announced this evening via Facebook that a two-block stretch of beach will be closed Wednesday and Thursday for necessary maintenance.

Dune stabilization and erosion - worsened by this past weekend's rare July nor'easter - will be the focus of this week's work by the construction firm Perna Finnigan, Inc. of Vineland.

***  BEACH CLOSURE NOTIFICATION  ***

The beach between 3rd and 5th Avenues will be closed starting at 7 AM tomorrow morning for two days to stabilize the dune and to eliminate the current cliff condition.

The contractor, Perna Finnigan, Inc., will erect an orange safety fence tomorrow morning to prohibit access to this section of the beach. It is of the utmost importance the public stays out of the work zone for their safety.

Thank you for your cooperation.
