New Dog Beach is officially OPEN; more improvements coming...

As of 4 p.m. this afternoon, the NEW Wildwood Dog Beach was open to the public!

Fencing installation, originally set to be completed by the Fourth of July, was completed ahead of schedule.

The park, located on the beach between Glenwood and Maple Avenues, is over an entire city block in length and features over 30,000 square feet of fenced in play areas, according to Director of Beach Services Tom Miceli.

Two specific play areas - for large and smaller breeds - are included.

Dog Beach, now much closer and even more easily accessible from the Boardwalk, is punctuated by the signature two-story fire hydrant and a gazebo, which were part of the Poplar Avenue site.

Various equipment is already on-site, with more improvements to be added in the next week or so, such as water stations, obstacles and landscaping.
