Yoga to be Introduced to North Wildwood Middle School Students to Help Cope w/ Stress

PRESS RELEASE

Life can be stressful even for our youth. However, studies have recommended yoga as a method to reduce/cope with stress because it promotes relaxation, which is the natural opposite of stress.

Yoga can benefit three aspects of ourselves that are often affected by stress: our body, mind, and breathing.

The Greater Wildwoods Municipal Alliance Committee (GWMAC), funded by the State of New Jersey’s Governor’s Council for Alcohol and Drug Abuse (GCADA) has partnered with ItSwell Yoga, a local Yoga Studio in North Wildwood, to host a 1-hour Yoga Workshop for the Mentor Buddy Program at North Wildwood’s Margaret Mace Public School.

For additional details on the time, date and location of the event, please see below:

1-Hour Yoga Session for GWMAC Mentor Buddy Program
(NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC)

Date: Thursday, June 1st, 2017
Time: 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Margaret Mace Public School
1201 Atlantic Avenue
North Wildwood, NJ 08260

A questionnaire will be distributed to the grade/middle school students concluding the event, in order to determine: A. If the students learned something new that might help them cope with stress, and B. whether or not the students would like to attend another yoga session.

All in all, the event is to introduce Yoga as a coping skill for our younger generation.
