WILDWOOD CREST - The Borough of Wildwood Crest will host a free presentation on the Battle of Turtle Gut Inlet on Tuesday, March 25 at 1 pm at the Crest Arts Pavilion.
The Battle of Turtle Gut Inlet is the only Revolutionary War battle to have taken place in Cape May County.
The lecture will be hosted by John Ryan of Historic Cold Spring Village and is being held in recognition of the 250th anniversary of America's independence in 2026.
The lecture will focus on who was involved in the Battle of Turtle Gut Inlet, who won and the eventual fate of Turtle Gut Inlet, which was located just off Wildwood Crest.
Light refreshments will be served. Attendees are asked to arrive at least five minutes prior to the start of the presentation.
