PRESS RELEASE

Boardwalk Entertainment has announced the return of two popular 2016 fall Wildwood events, and announces new events for 2017.

The Wildwood Food Truck Festival will take place in the spring and the fall of 2017, while the City Wide Yardsale has been placed in August.

New events for 2017 include Movies on the Beach, the Sandy Paws Dog Festival and Dog Adoption Day, and an internationally broadcasted sporting event which is soon to be announced.

“We have a very busy beginning of 2017 planning our events,” said owner Amanda Thomas. “Our new events for Wildwood are very unique, and we look forward to working with the City and the community to make them a success.”

The Wildwood Food Truck Festivals have been expanded to feature more food trucks, a brand new line up of popular bands, a new vendor row featuring up to 20 vendors, and a kid’s area that will feature a bounce house, face painting and more. The event is free entry, and at Fox park from 11 AM-6 PM on May 20th and October 21st.

The Wildwood City Wide Yardsale has been expanded to include a seller’s area at Fox Park. This year, Boardwalk Entertainment encourages vendors, flea market sellers, and even local home owners to set up at Fox Park for the most exposure. The City Wide Yardsale will take place from 7 AM-3 PM around town and at Fox Park on August 19th.

New for this year, Boardwalk Entertainment has plans to revive the Movies on the Beach, taking place on Taylor Avenue Beach, just behind the Wildwoods sign, on July 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th as well as August 4th, 11th, and 18th. Movies will be popular and some even first run movies. The company will work with Premiere Outdoor Movies to execute this event, as they were the company that previously worked on the event alongside the City a few years back.

Additionally, Boardwalk Entertainment will host the first ever Sandy Paws Dog Festival and Dog Adoption Day that will feature local charities, rescues, and shelters with a goal of raising awareness of “Adopt, Don’t Shop” as well as funds for local shelters. Interactive activities such as the Doggie Olympics, the Dog Fashion Show, and the Doggie Talent Show will encourage owners to bring their pups out to the event with the chance to win cash prizes as well as the best dog products in the industry.

More details will be provided on this event in the beginning of April.

And the big event for 2017, an internationally broadcasted sporting event that will feature the national teams from over 5 different countries will be announced within the next two weeks. The sport was featured as a demo sport in the 2016 Rio Olympics, and has an international following.

Wildwood will be featured on the broadcast that will be live in available in 4K streaming to any device around the world, as well as later featured on a television broadcast that will air on a major sports network around the US. Boardwalk Entertainment will work with a leader in the broadcast industry, MultiVision Media, for all production and broadcasting components of the event.

“We are so excited to bring events into Wildwood,” said Thomas. “It’s a fantastic city, there’s plenty of great venues, and everyone is always so friendly. The events we have scheduled for 2017 should be a big hit. We are excited to announce more details on all these events very soon.”
