Event Spotlight: Olde Time Italian Fest this Friday & Saturday

UPDATE: Thursday, Sept. 29, 5:05 p.m.

This event has been CANCELLED due to
safety and weather concerns, per the Sons of Italy.

The scents and sounds of tradition will warm the cool early-autumn air as the Olde Time Italian Festival returns to Fox Park this weekend.

The 12th annual version of this popular event will be held directly across from the Wildwoods Convention Center (between Montgomery & Burks avenues) from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, September 30 and from noon until 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 1.

This FREE family festival will feature food and merchandise vendors, contests and games (grape stomping and spaghetti eating, anyone?) and continuous live entertainment, highlighted by the continuation of the "Fabulous" Charlie Gracie's 80th birthday celebration!

After the Procession of Saints kicks off the festival at 5 p.m. on Friday, Gracie will take the stage at the Joe Stamile Amphitheater, followed by Purple Reign.

Bands scheduled to perform throughout the day on Saturday include: Brooklyn Bridge, 45 RPM, The Aquanets, Bittersweet, Kenny Jeremiah, Just In Time, Mike Averone & Johnny Bone, and Tre Bella.

The Olde Time Italian Festival is sponsored by the Sons of Italy, Sylvester Grande Lodge 1838.
