The U.S. Futsal Northeast Regional Championship Returns to the Wildwoods, Feb. 15-17

The U.S. Futsal Northeast Regional Championship
Returns to the Wildwoods Convention Center for
Three Days of Action-Packed Indoor Soccer:
Saturday, February 15 – Monday, February 17

PRESS RELEASE

The United States Futsal Federation will host the Northeast Futsal Regional Championships, Saturday, February 15 through Monday, February 17 in the Wildwoods Convention Center. This three-day, action-packed indoor tournament will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Futsal is a variant of soccer that is played on a smaller area and mainly played indoors. It is played between two teams, each with five players including the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutes per team are permitted.

Unlike some other forms of indoor soccer, the game is played on a hard court surface delimited by lines; walls or boards are not used. Futsal is also played with a smaller ball with less bounce than a regular soccer ball.

The rules create an emphasis on improvisation, creativity and technique as well as ball control and passing in small spaces, resulting in fast-paced, exciting games.

Teams consist of various age brackets and include more than 5,000 players from around the world. Prizes will be awarded to winning teams and top players as well.

Admission is $10 per day or $20 for the weekend. Wristbands will be available for purchase at the door.
