Morey’s Piers, the classic shore side amusement park destination located on the boardwalk in the Wildwoods, NJ, will play host to The Wild Half, a 13.1 mile half marathon and 8K race on May 18, 2014.
Registration will open on Tuesday, October 1st at midnight and the first 131 runners to register for the half marathon will receive a discounted $35 registration fee, half off the early registration price of $70.
The scenic Wildwoods course will lead runners from ocean views to an action-packed boardwalk. Several fun-filled activities will be scheduled during the race weekend including a finish line festival featuring live music and food, a Health & Fitness Expo at the Wildwoods Convention Center, and more.
In addition, each registered participant will receive a free unlimited ride wristband to Morey’s Piers for use on both May 17 and 18, 2014. Runners can purchase additional ride wristbands for friends and family to enjoy the fun at the special spectator price of $39.
To register, visit www.runwildwoods.com starting October 1, 2013. Those who sign-up before October 15th, will receive the early registration price of $70 for the half marathon and $35 for the 8K.
The price of registration ranges from $35.00 to $120.00 depending on the race category (half marathon or 8K) and date of registry. The Wild Half Marathon’s “Go Wild for Charity” program enables athletes to support and raise money for their favorite charitable organizations.
Official charity partners of the 2014 Wild Half include ALS Chapter of Greater Philadelphia, a leading non-profit organization in the fight against Lou Gehrig’s Disease; Lunch with Lynch, which supports learning experiences for the children of the Glenwood Avenue Elementary School and all the schools in the Wildwoods; and JDRF South Jersey, funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
