WILDWOOD CREST - The Crest Arts Pavilion will host a free presentation of "Nevertheless, She Persisted," a program that will highlight female pioneers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), on Friday, November 1 at 10 am.
The presentation will focus on the underrepresentation of women in STEM, many of whom could not find employment in their desired field after obtaining a STEM education. Many of these women took positions in colleges and universities, where their research and discoveries were often attributed to their male counterparts.
The program will be presented by Pary Tell, who served as the Director/Curator of the Museum of Cape May County for seven years before becoming the Director of the Division of Culture & Heritage for Cape May County.
Now retired, Tell has a particular interest in telling the stories of women in our history that have often been overlooked. She currently serves as the Treasurer of the League of Historical Societies of New Jersey, chairs the Lower Township Historic Preservation Commission and is president of Preserving the Wildwoods, A Community Alliance.
No pre-registration is required to attend the presentation.
The Crest Arts Pavilion is located at 6301 Ocean Avenue in Wildwood Crest.
