GWCOC Celebrates 75th Annual Installation Dinner

The Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 75th Annual Installation Dinner on Thursday, Sep. 26 at Pasta Pesto Italian Grill.

Cape May County Surrogate, M. Susan Sheppard, Esq. installed the new officers and Board of Directors at the dinner:

Joyce Gould, President, Jacqueline Fiore, 1st Vice President, Lisa Rendzak, 2nd Vice President, Joe Murray Jr, Secretary, Alan Gould, Legal Counsel, Greg Guyon,Treasurer, Angel Daniels, Fiscal Secretary, Jim Rowland, Immediate Past President, Lori Bradshaw Roach, At Large, Linda Williams, At Large, Jim Barnabei, Karen Bohme, Sheila Brown, Patrick Davenport, Jodie DiEduardo, Karen Dickinson, Katarina Elder, Cory Hanahan, William “Yogi” Kurtz, Irv Posternock, Eileen Sinn, and Valerie Trivelis.

The Chamber was proud to present the following local businesses with beautification awards for construction, landscaping, new attractions, renovations, signage and most improved awards.

Most Improved Accommodations ~ The Dolphin Inn

Pasta Pesto Italian Grill was awarded Best New Restaurant award.

In addition to the beautification awards, several other awards were presented...

Alan Gould presented Tim Patel, owner and operator of Le Voyageur Motel and The Dolphin Inn, with the Business Person of the Year Award. Mr. Gould noted that "Mr. Patel took a motel that was ranked one of the worst motels in the United States and completely renovated it, making it a choice destination for visitors."

Angel Daniels presented Markella Inc. with Business of the Year. Markella Inc. is the parent company for Marvi’s Dinner, Pink Cadillac, and Pasta Pesto.

Lisa Rendzak presented the Volunteer of the Year award to sisters Via Karavangelos-Zampirri and Haroula Rotondi. Lisa pointed out that "you have your leaders and you have your doers. Via and Haroula are the doers – the girls that get their hands dirty and the job done."

The night’s big award - The President’s Award - was presented by current Chamber President Joyce Gould to Mr. Tom Byrne. Mrs. Gould selected Mr. Byrne for this award because of his many years of commitment and dedication to the Wildwoods.

In celebration of the 75th Anniversary of The Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce, the municipalities and many organizations and partners presented Mrs. Joyce Gould, GWCOC Board President, with Proclamations and letters of Congratulations.
