Wildwood Centennial Committee Announces Poster Contest

PRESS RELEASE

The City of Wildwood has announced a poster contest to design art work celebrating Wildwood’s 100th Anniversary this year. The contest is being organized and administered by Wildwood’s Centennial Committee. The contest is open to Wildwood school children from Grades K through 12. Posters will be displayed in Wildwood City Hall.

The contest will begin on April 1 and run until April 30. The Centennial Committee will pick up the completed posters from teachers on May 1.

The approved contest themes are divided into three divisions, including a Coloring Contest for Grades K-4, Wildwood Landmarks for Grades 5-8 and Wildwood –Then and Now (What do you think Wildwood looked like 100 years ago?) for Grades 8-12.

Posters should be no larger than 24” wide by 36” high and should be submitted flat, not rolled. Pictures or other materials may be mounted on the posters, if mounted securely. Only materials that are flat or create a two- dimensional effect may be used. Any coloring materials available to students and suitable for poster work may be used.

Entries must be an original work of the individual student and free of all copyright or other intellectual property claims. Hand drawn pictures are preferred and computer-generated art will not be accepted. The artwork becomes the property of the City of Wildwood and will be used at the City's sole discretion.

Entries must have the student's name, grade, address, parent’s name, teacher’s name and school on the back of the artwork.

All students are encouraged to participate in this fun, local pride activity. All entrants are winners. Parents, teachers and students are encouraged to view the artwork after May 7 at Wildwood City Hall, Mondays through Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. An award presentation for all students will be held on Wed., May 30th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
