Wildwoods campaign wins marketing award

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Suasion Communications Group’s 2009-2011 public relations campaign for the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement & Development Authority (GWTIDA) has earned a Silver Adrian Award in the annual marketing competition’s Consumer Marketing Public Relations category.

Suasion Communications Group of Egg Harbor Township serves as GWTIDA’s public relations agency. The firm created the award-winning public relations campaign, which was selected from more than 1,000 international entries judged by senior industry and media experts. According to Suasion staff, the campaign publicizing the Wildwoods “as a value-filled, affordable, family-friendly vacation destination.”

The Adrian Awards are presented annually by the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) to honor achievements in advertising, public relations and website marketing in the travel industry. Founded in 1957, the Adrian Awards include all segments of the hospitality industry, including hotels, airlines, cruise lines, car rental companies, destinations and more, according to a statement from Suasion.

According to Suasion, their 2009-2011 public relations campaign for the Wildwoods, along with the Wildwoods’ advertising and marketing campaign, has meant more than 1,400 stories in local and national broadcast, print and web publications, in addition to 100,000 requests for vacation information packets from prospective vacationers, and over 4.5 million website visitors to the Wildwoods website.

“The Wildwoods brand continues to grow and remain top-of-mind for vacationers through our highly successful public relations and marketing campaigns,” said John Siciliano, GWTIDA executive director.

This is one of many awards that the Suasion Communications/GWTIDA partnership has garnered for its public relations efforts. The Wildwoods’ 2008 public relations campaign and 2010 public relations campaign for the Wildwoods’ Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall earned 2009 & 2011 New Jersey Governor’s Awards for Tourism Excellence from the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism, in addition to the partnership earning a Bronze Adrian Award for its 2009 public relations campaign promoting the Wildwoods’ marketing campaign.

“Being selected from over 1,000 national and international entries for this year’s Adrian Awards is a major accomplishment for Suasion, and we plan on continuing our award-winning work throughout 2012,” said Susan Adelizzi-Schmidt, President of Suasion Communications Group.

The 2012 Adrian Awards Gala will be held on Feb. 27, at the Marriot Marquis in New York City.
