Cooks compete for “Souper” Stardom Sunday, October 9

What would fall be without the smell of chili simmering on the stove? Get a true taste of Jersey on the Wildwoods Boardwalk at Mariner’s Landing on Sunday, October 9 at Morey’s Piers’ 1st Annual Souper Sunday Chili and Chowder Cook Off – where chefs, restaurants and talented individuals will compete for the glory of being named the “Best Of” in their chosen category.

The competition will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 9 with a 2-hour cooking period. Public tastings will begin at 1 p.m. Guests can purchase tasting kits for $10 and Season Pass Members can purchase kits for $8. Tasting kits include 5 taste tickets, tasting cups and a Guest’s Choice Ballot.

“Our West Coast friends over at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk have two great cook off events each year so we decided to bring the idea to the best boardwalk on the East Coast,” said Kristel Jenkins, Events and Entertainment Manager. “What better way to end a season and welcome winter than with a hot bowl of chili or chowder?”

Got a great recipe? Register in one of three categories – Individual, Professional (for restaurants and caterers) or Corporate/Media.
