Leprechaun Leap festivities kick off tonight

The 3rd Annual Leprechaun Leap Polar Bear Plunge is scheduled for Saturday, but festivities begin tonight and will continue throughout the weekend.

Registration begins tonight at 7 p.m. at Keenan's Irish Pub. The donation to participate is $20 for adults and $10 for children (price includes a t-shirt).

Proceeds will go to benefit the Philadelphia Fallen Hero's Survivor Fund, which provides for families of police officers lost in the line of duty. A donation will also be made toward scholarship funds in memory of Ricky Lannetti.

Comedian Joe Conklin will perform at 9 p.m., followed by the Marlarky Bros Trio and DJ TEEK.

Registration will resume tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. at the site of the plunge - 15th Street Beach.

The plunge will take place at 11 a.m.

There will then be an after-party at Keenan's, starting at noon. The Phillie Phanatic will be on hand and several prizes will be raffled off, including a 42-inch LCD TV.
