Reader Photo of the Day: 1/6/12

Sometimes, you just have to marvel at the natural beauty of our island and its surrounding areas. What better place to "take it all in" than up at Hereford Inlet, where our friend Ann Delaney (Blog / Twitter) snapped this glorious scene at sunset.

As a bonus, here's the other side of the sunset sky - the back bay entering Stone Harbor...

The more info on the image, the better. Photos can be current, pics from your vacation last summer, or vintage shots of your grandparents at the beach in 1952. So long as they're part of your Wildwood story, we'd love to see them!

Reader Photo of the Day: 12/9/11

This photo literally took our breath away.

Frankie Gallagher snapped this scene moments before the official sunrise in Anglesea one morning in September. As those who have witnessed a pre-dawn festival of pinks and purples such as this, the sky changes color so quickly as the sun gets closer to rising over the ocean's horizon.

Fortunately, Frankie acted quickly and captured an image we can all savor forever!

Reader Photo of the Day: 12/8/11

Continuing our revived Reader Photo of the Day feature (see yesterday's submission HERE), we received this beautiful pic from our old friend Greg Hnath.

From Greg:  I took this picture of my brother and my father in 2009 during our vacation. My brother has Downs Syndrome and the beach has become his favorite place in the world. Every year, he waits patiently for our trip to Wildwood. He can't speak many words, but the smile on his face during vacation says it all.

This is really what it's all about, isn't it? Family, natural tranquility, and the magic of the Wildwoods.

Thanks, Greg!

Reader Photo of the Day: Santa and his Little Helper

In recent weeks, we've asked our readers what new features they would like to see here on the Wildwood 365 Blog. One of the top general requests we've received is for the return of our "Reader Photo of the Day" posts.

After Heather McCallion shared the above photo with us, we thought, "What better time than the present?"

This is Jim McCallion (Heather's father) playing the role of "Sandy Claus," posing with his grandson, three-year-old Conlon Achuff at the famous Wildwood sign.

Jim also dons the red suit for "Breakfast with Santa" at the Grand Hotel in Cape May.

Thanks to Heather for the great pic!
