The Wildwoods Air Show to honor the 25th anniversary of 9/11 with island-wide memorial ceremonies on Friday, September 11th

THE WILDWOODS - As the Wildwoods Air Show returns to the award-winning Wildwoods Beaches for another year of awe-inspiring feats on September 12-13, this year's show will feature a patriotic commemoration in honor of victims and heroes of 9/11 on the 25th anniversary of the tragedy.

The 2026 Wildwoods Air Show is a thrilling and commemorative send-off for a summer of patriotic events celebrating America's 250th birthday. As a final goodbye to summer, and to kick off the Wildwoods' fall "Second Season," the Wildwoods Air Show has a packed lineup of aerial performers, and as a special tribute to the victims of 9/11, will feature an aerial salute to commemorate their lives.

In addition to the show, there will also be several 9/11 memorial ceremonies across the island on Friday, September 11, the day before the Air Show begins. 

9/11 remembrance ceremonies taking place on Friday, September 11 in the Wildwoods preceding the Airshow include:

  • North Wildwood September 11th Commemoration at 8:40 am at the 15th Street Fire Station, 15th Street & Central Avenue
  • Downtown Wildwood 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at 10 am in Byrne Plaza
  • Wildwood Crest 9/11 Memorial Service at 5:30 pm at Alameno Park, New Jersey & Miami Avenues

The Wildwoods Air Show is a flagship event for the Wildwoods, bringing hundreds of thousands of spectators, talented aerial performers, sponsors and the local community together for an unforgettable weekend filled with thrilling performances and family-friendly events.

This year's headliners include the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demo Team, 177th Fighter Wing, New Jersey Air National Guard, MiG-17, Jersey Jerks, Patrick McAlee, David Mindmiller and RJ Gritter.

When the Air Show flies into town, spectators can enjoy the show across the entire island with the beach and boardwalk areas showcasing optimal viewing areas. The center of the event takes place above the ocean between Morey's Mariner's Pier and Adventure Pier at the Spicer Avenue beach, and while premium seating options are available, the Air Show is FREE and available to watch across the entire island. 

Throughout the weekend, the Wildwoods' schedule of events is packed with free and affordable events for visitors to enjoy, no matter the budget.

The Wildwoods' five-mile island has appealed to vacationing families for more than a century. In addition to the Wildwoods' award-winning beaches and boardwalk, the resort also offers the largest collection of mid-20th century architecture in the country. This iconic style is known as "Doo Wop Architecture." 

Brimming with cool artifacts, fun memories, fascinating history and bright neon lights, the Doo Wop Experience Museum and Neon Sign Garden is a collective celebration of architecture, design, music, pop culture and everything that made Wildwood famous in its heyday of the 1950's and 1960's.
