The Wildwoods' "Second Season" revs up this weekend with a full lineup of family-friendly events ~ September 15-17

THE WILDWOODS - The Wildwoods' Second Season  kicks into full gear this weekend with exciting events for the whole family.

The summer vacation season may be winding down, but the Wildwoods are gearing up with a blockbuster schedule, including festivals, conventions, monster truck races, car shows, tournaments and competitions, starting this weekend - September 15-17.


September 15-16  ~  New Jersey State Firemen's Convention & Parade

The annual Convention of the New Jersey State Firemen and Life Members at the Wildwoods Convention Center, featuring meetings, seminars and voting takes place Friday and Saturday, September 15-16. Fire trucks from around the state will be displayed in the Wildwoods Convention Center parking lots and merchandise vendors can be found across the street at Fox Park.

Apparatus and equipment display times are Friday from 8 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm. The Firemen's Parade will be held on Saturday at 2 pm along New Jersey Avenue from Cresse Avenue in Wildwood Crest, proceeding north to 26th Avenue in North Wildwood.

September 15-16  ~  Wildwood Crest Firefighters' Weekend Craft Show

Check out dozens of craft vendors lined along Sunrise Park at Rambler Road & Ocean Avenue in Wildwood Crest. The craft show will be held on Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm. FREE admission. Call 609-523-0202 or visit www.WildwoodCrest.org for more information. 


September 15-17  ~  Oktoberfest at Morey's Mariner's Pier

Mariner's Pier will be open for its annual Oktoberfest weekend events for the next four weekends. Enjoy live German music, food and beer, and fun activities for all. Various members of the Morey family and team will tap the ceremonial keg of German beer at 5:30 pm on Friday, September 15. This will be immediately followed by a Stein Holding Contest with a prize for the winner. 

Bands on Friday night, Saturday afternoon, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon will entertain the crowds, as will a group of musicians moving throughout the pier playing German-style music. Founder's Grub and Pub, Wilhelm's Beer Garden, as well as concessions will all feature authentic German food and beer. There will also be a RootBeer Garden and family activities for all ages.

September 16  ~  NEW!  El Festival - Hispanic Heritage Celebration

The First Annual Hispanic Celebration - El Festival, will take place at Byrne Plaza (3400 Pacific Avenue) from 3 to 8 pm on Saturday. Enjoy music from DJ Chino and live band, Eco del Sur. There will be vendors selling Hispanic merchandise, delicious ethnic foods and so much more. Admission is FREE!



September 16  ~  NEW!  Muddy Schnitzel Family Fun Run

Lace up your sneaks and prepare to get muddy at Morey's Piers' first annual Muddy Schnitzel, a family mud run on the beach between Mariner's and Adventure Piers. The course is about one mile long and features over a dozen obstacles, including water pits, an army crawl, king of the dune and tube scramble. Families will have a blast navigating the course together and racing to the finish, where every participant will be awarded a finisher medal!

September 16  ~  Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series: Gypsy Wisdom

A fun night of FREE live musical entertainment for the entire family, the Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series takes place at Centennial Park - Fern Road & Ocean Avenue in Wildwood Crest at 7 pm.
