Weekend to Shine the Shore: Lennon's House providing special needs senior graduates a "prom weekend" in the Wildwoods - and you can help!

Being a teenager isn't always easy. This is especially true for special needs teenagers, who just want to fit in and be like their peers.

Lennon's House is a non-profit organization that puts together events for children with special needs. This year, the charity will be bringing two high school senior graduates to the Wildwoods to celebrate "prom weekend" with their parents at The Crest Beach House.

At this time, Lennon's House is collecting donations to help ensure that these teens have a great experience. We are also searching for additional accommodations suitable for four to five people, and preferably in the Crest, from June 22-24.

"We would love to get our wonderful Wildwood community together - vacation rental and local business owners, residents and vacationers - to provide an exciting, once-in-a-lifetime experience for these teenagers to have that similar 'prom weekend" that all of their peers get to experience,'" said representative Umi Haft-Funke.

Those interested in contributing can help in the following ways:

  • Gift cards towards a local restaurant or excursion in Wildwood/Cape May.
  • Donations towards a linen service for blankets, sheets and towels
  • Donations towards a gift basket for each (4) senior grads
  • Gifts/items from location businesses in Wildwood and Cape May

* Any remaining donations/contributions will be donated to Lennon's House non-profit organization

Once again, the link to contribute to Weekend to Shine the Shore can be found HERE.

It's a great way to give back and be a part of something greater than ourselves!
