THE WILDWOODS - The Atlantic Coast Wrestling Association will host the Annual "War at the South Jersey Shore" National Folkstyle Wrestling Championships at the Wildwoods Convention Center on Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16.
This youth wrestling tournament will feature over 50 weight classes spread across five age divisions, and a high school division with 15 weight classes. A girls division, K-12, will also be featured along with an open division. In previous years, more than 2,000 wrestlers representing over 20 states traveled to the Wildwoods to compete.
The "War at the South Jersey Shore" tournament has turned into one of the toughest and most competitive youth wrestling tournaments in the country, with many regional and state champions and finalists participating. For the wrestlers, it is a great tournament to test their skill levels by going against some of the best wrestlers in the country. For the wrestling fans, it is two days of incredible non-stop wrestling action.
Electronic bout boards will be available to follow the tournament live over the internet. Awards will be presented immediately after completion of wrestling in each bracket and certification of results.
Weigh-ins for all wrestlers will take place in the Wildwoods Convention Center on Thursday, April 14 from 5 - 8 pm. Competition begins on Friday at 8 am and continues on Saturday, starting at 8 am.
