The Wildwood Dog Park & Beach will be closed for the next 2-3 weeks as the grounds undergo a major wintertime renovation.

According to an official Facebook post, the park will have a fresh look for 2022 with "new commercial obstacle equipment, a larger 'small breed' section, more shade areas and a few other additions."

The majority of fencing around the park's perimeter will also be removed and replaced.

Photos of the renovation process will be posted HERE.

Easily located by its trademark 25-foot red fire hydrant (a repurposed Morey's Piers amusement ride) and its central location in front of the 3000 block of the Boardwalk, the Wildwood Dog Park & Beach has become a popular year round attraction for locals and visitors.

The park currently features separate large and small breed recreation areas with a centralized gazebo, and serves as an entryway for owners who wish to take their four-legged friends into the ocean (in the designated area between Glenwood and Maple Avenues).

The Wildwood Dog Park & Beach debuted at Poplar Avenue in 2014 and was reconstructed and expanded at its current location in 2017.
