PRESS RELEASE
The Wildwoods, NJ – Nearly all of the events scheduled at the Wildwoods Convention Center in recent months that could not be held due to mandatory closures have been rescheduled at the facility for future dates.
“Close to 100 percent of our events scheduled for 2020 will remain at the Wildwoods Convention Center, albeit at future dates,” said Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA) Executive Director/CFO John Siciliano. “Our event planners love this facility and our destination; understand the value and level of service they receive here; and simply could not imagine their events taking place anywhere else. We are grateful for their loyalty.”
Major annual events, including Cheerleading, Dance, Wrestling, and Basketball Tournaments, along with annual conventions, consumer and trade shows and events have booked dates to return in 2021 – and new events are being added to the already-robust 2021 schedule.
The skilled team at the Wildwoods Convention Center stands ready to host events at its award-winning facility when the time is right. Extensive measures are being taken to ensure that when event planners and organizations are allowed to engage, the Wildwoods Convention Center will be a place where groups can enjoy a safe, comfortable and unforgettable experience throughout their stay.
To assure the safety of guests and employees, advanced sanitization protocols have been implemented, including sanitizing stations located in key traffic areas throughout the building. Also, one designated employee has been assigned to sanitize the high-traffic areas throughout the building – door handles, window ledges and other highly populated areas.
Before and after all events, the Convention Center’s professional team will deep clean the areas with commercial grade disinfecting materials and sprays and restock all hand sanitized stations. The team will maintain this during events to assure guests feel safe and comfortable and conduct the same level of deep cleaning immediately following the event.
“We will abide by both state and federal regulations advising safe distancing between all attendees, which is also reflected in seating arrangements for all meetings, dining, exhibits, etc.,” stated Siciliano. “Safety is a top priority for us, and we are taking every precaution to assure that all who visit the Wildwoods Convention Center feel safe and comfortable.”
The state-of-the-art Wildwoods Convention Center offers 260,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, including a 75,000-square-foot exhibit hall that can also be configurable into two 37,500-square-foot separate areas; a 7,500-seat concert arena for live shows; 30,000 square feet of lobby and pre-function space; ten separate meeting rooms; state-of-the-art sound/lighting systems; and amazing ocean views from nearly every angle – not to mention a team of experienced support personnel and service professionals constantly at the ready to provide assistance every step of the way.
The Wildwoods Convention Center provides planners with precisely what they need, and participants with exactly what they want. Ideally situated close to three major U.S. cities – New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. – the Wildwoods serve as the perfect drive-in location for regional meetings and events.
The Wildwoods Convention Center is located directly on the destination’s FREE and spacious white-sand beaches – offering the unique opportunity between meetings, trade shows, sporting events, and other events for visitors to experience in the breathtaking scenic views of the ocean and take advantage of ‘Beach Therapy’ – an alternative to the daily grind of work and life.
Gather with friends, family, colleagues and enjoy the chance to rest, relax, recharge, and escape the outside world. Those in need of a little self-care can kick back in their beach chairs or stretch out on their towels to reap the benefits of a day at the beach. The beaches offer an award-winning and spacious stretch of sand with plenty of room to stretch out and practice social distancing.
The Wildwoods Convention Center is also located directly on the spacious and wide Wildwoods Boardwalk, a nearly three-mile neon-lit slice of Americana. The boardwalk’s host of tempting eateries offer a variety of cuisine to please virtually any palette – including favorites like French fries, burgers and hot dogs to freshly-made fudge, funnel cakes and ice cream.
Quality restaurants are another part of the Wildwoods’ boardwalk dining experience – from fresh seafood caught daily, Italian cuisine and waterfront seating.
The Wildwoods is home to 8,000 hotel, motel and bed and breakfast rooms and over 3,000 vacation rentals to fit any budget. Our Convention Center housing program allows for effortless online booking of accommodations for event goers with the click of your mouse. It’s easy to see why the Wildwoods Convention Center is a top meeting venue.
GWTIDA is working with the island’s municipalities, the Greater Wildwood Hotel and Motel Association (GWHMA), the Wildwood Business Improvement District (WBID), the Wildwood Special Improvement District (WSID), and the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce to implement initiatives among the destination’s businesses and attractions to enhance the safety of employees and guests as the Wildwoods gradually re-open.
These include increased intensive sanitizing protocols, social distancing procedures and expanded restaurant seating onto the sidewalks and parking lots allowing for social distancing while dining. And, of course, wide spacious beaches allow plenty of room to stretch out and practice social distancing.
