Wildwood Police Department issues Fourth of July celebration traffic advisory

The following advisory was issued this afternoon by the City of Wildwood Police Department...

Fireworks for this year’s Fourth of July celebration will be held on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at 10:00 PM. The fireworks will originate on the beach at Pine Avenue, however they can be seen along the length of the Boardwalk in Wildwood.

Following the fireworks, we expect significant traffic delays in the area of the George Redding Bridge (NJ-47).  Because of this, we ask that you consider using an alternate route off the island if you plan to leave Wildwood when the fireworks conclude.

These alternate routes include using one of two other bridges off the island:

South – Take Pacific Avenue south through Wildwood Crest and over the Middle Thorofare Bridge.  This route will take you to Exit 0 of the Garden State Parkway, with access to Cape May, Lower Township, and the Parkway north.

North – Take New Jersey Avenue north and exit the island via North Wildwood Boulevard.  This route will provide access to Middle Township, Ocean Drive, and the Garden State Parkway north from Exit 6.
