Sightseer Tram Cars to celebrate 70 years of service with $.10 fare on Monday, June 11th
WATCH THE TRAM CAR, PLEASE!
On June 11, 1949, businessman Gilbert Ramagosa introduced the Wildwoods Boardwalk to what would become it's most endearing icon - the Sightseer Tram Cars.
To celebrate this milestone, Tram Car service will be offered for its original price of $.10 cents each way, all day on Monday, June 11.
The original trams were custom built for the 1939 World's Fair in Flushing, New York. After several years in storage, they were purchased by Ramagosa and put into service on the Boardwalk.
The rest is HISTORY!
