Sightseer Tram Car service set to begin Thursday, May 3, 2018

Along the road back to Summer, we pass several mile markers - annual rites of passage that ease the transition from the long winter month,s as the anticipation of a new season builds.

The re-opening of Sam's Pizza Palace every President's Day Weekend... St. Patrick's Day and Easter... Opening Day at Morey's Piers...

But, there's nothing like hearing "Watch the Tram Car, Please!" again!

Sightseer tram service is scheduled to begin this year on Thursday, May 3. That's still a little over two months away, but, somehow, just having a date set makes it feel a little bit closer.

From DOO WW's official Tram Car page:

Tram Cars operate during the season along the two miles of the Wildwoods Boardwalk from 16th Street in North Wildwood to Cresse Avenue at the Wildwood/Wildwood Crest end.

The yellow and blue trams have been traversing the boards since June 11, 1949. They were originally built for the 1939 New York World's Fair and brought to Five Mile Beach by S.B. Ramagosa.

Operation begins at 11am and generally goes until the amusement piers close. A one-way ride is about thirty minutes. Take advantage of the Hop On Hop Off Wristbands until 5pm.  You may get on or off anywhere along the route – reentry requires a hop on hop off wristband or another fare.
