Another huge turnout for today's Polar Plunge in North Wildwood

Thousands of swimsuited sports and costumed crazies converged on North Wildwood earlier today for the annual Fallen Heroes Polar Bear Plunge.

Our unofficial observations at 11 a.m. had the air temperature at 48 degrees and the water temp at 41, with virtually no wind.

Conditions for the event, which took place at 15th-16th Beach, were foggy due to 100 percent humidity; though the rain held off.

Official participation numbers have yet to be announced, but there's a good chance that this was another record-setter.

Held every February, the Fallen Heroes Polar Plunge is dedicated to the memory of law enforcement heroes who lost their lives in the line of duty. Proceeds will benefit the Philadelphia Fallen Heroes Fun, MRSA Awareness and local scholarships.
