"it" takes shape at Surfside Pier (Part 1)

The support structure of "it," Morey's Piers' premiere addition for 2011, was raised into place yesterday afternoon. Boardwalk passers-by will now be able to observe the attraction, which stands on the north side of Surfside Pier (in the former location of the Wipeout! Slide).

"it" is scheduled to be tested in the coming days (so keep an eye out if you happen to be in the area); the ride will open to the public on May 21st, with a "grand opening" scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend.

The following set of photos comes to us courtesy of our friends at Morey's Piers. For more info, see Trudi Gilfillian's piece on the new ride in today's Press of Atlantic City.

  1. Just got back from a few days at the shore and on Monday was going to get my slice of Sam's pizza for lunch when I stopped to watch them testing out "It". There was a man sitting on the ride as it was going back and forth, he was putting his hands up in the air I guess to see if they would hit anything that was too close. "It" is really taking shape!
