What's New at Morey's Piers in 2011?

PRESS RELEASE

Morey’s Piers in the Wildwoods, NJ is offering a variety of all-new attractions, renovations, events and upgrades during the 2011 season.

First, Morey’s will unveil a thrilling new attraction at Surfside Pier, located on the Boardwalk at 26th Street in North Wildwood, during May 2011 – called “it.” “it” will spin, swing and fly riders to heights of 65-feet, secured only by a first of “it’s” kind lap bar system.

When it comes to food and beverage options, Morey’s Piers is always innovating, and this year, Morey’s will renovate its most famous boardwalk eatery, Jumbo’s, with a facelift and a “foodlift.” The exterior of Jumbo’s will get a new look for 2011, as will the eatery’s menu. Not only will Jumbo’s continue to serve outstanding American cuisine like giant pizza slices and seafood, but this classic will offer a brand-new beverage menu with a full selection of beers and wines.

Also new for 2011 at Jumbo’s is the unveiling of heated outdoor decks – the first of its kind in the Wildwoods and perfect for a chilly, Jersey shore night.

Morey’s Piers will host the first-ever “Wild Half” Half-Marathon on Sunday, August 28. The new seaside half-marathon will take runners through the Wildwoods on a 13.1 mile course that will take runners along the world-famous Wildwoods Boardwalk and the beautiful Wildwoods shoreline – ending on the award-winning beaches with an unforgettable finish complete with spectators, music and fanfare.

In addition to new attractions, events, and renovations happening at Morey’s, the seaside piers will also upgrade one of its newest, most terrifying attractions – Ghost Ship. Unveiled in 2010, Ghost Ship takes guests on a walking journey through the hulls and decks of a 14,000 square foot cargo ship named “Ignis Fatuus” – full of frightful haunts as a result of a “Philadelphia Experiment” gone horribly wrong.

New for 2011 – Ghost Ship will mysteriously evolve with an eerily, ever-changing show and some brand-new haunts and scares that will terrify the bravest of souls.
