Do you recognize the neon-outlined, bulb-studded arrow in the picture above?It's actually the remaining portion of a former McDonald's sign at 3106 Boardwalk. The spinning "M" globe from the top and vertical lettering were removed after the fast food chain pulled out at the end of the 2009 season.
The arrow is being lit once again, however, now that a new burger joint has taken up shop in the location (which is part of the large Strand Theater complex, between Maple & Pine Avenues).
Unfortunately, the wonderfully vintage neon Speedy mascot on the stand across the Boardwalk has completely disappeared.
