Juuuust when you thought it was safe to log back on...
This Sunday, June 20, will mark the 35th anniversary of the release of Jaws - one of the most influential movies of all time, the father of the "summer blockbuster" genre, and, most importantly, the tale that has delightfully scared generations of us right out of the ocean!
Jaws was a phenomenon the likes of which movie-goers had never experienced when it debuted in 1975. But in the Wildwoods, the story of the killer shark terrorizing a beach resort town resonated in a truly special way.
Starting Sunday, we will celebrate "Jaws Week" here at Wildwood 365 with a variety of daily features and tributes to one of our favorite flicks.
As part of the fun, we'd like to hear from our readers about your particular memories of the movie's release. Did you see it in a theater (seems like just about everyone who was around did)? Were you afraid to go in the water for any time afterward? How do you feel the film holds up today?
Drop us a line at wildwood365@gmail.com to share your memories and take part in our tribute to the 35th anniversary of Jaws!
You're gonna need a bigger boat.
