B&B owner named Select Registry president

Bill Moncrief, owner of the Candlelight Inn Bed & Breakfast (2310 Central Ave., North Wildwood), has been named president of Select Registry, Distinguished Inns of North America.

The organization represents 400 award-winning inns, intimate B&Bs and small boutique hotels in and around top destinations in the U.S. and Canada.

Along with his wife, Nancy, Moncrief purchased the Candlelight in 1999. The couple, who act as innkeepers, joined Select Registry’s elite membership of North American inns and distinctive B&Bs in 2001.

Built by Leaming Rice, the Queen Anne Victorian inn dates to the turn of the century. It remained in the Rice family until 1985.
