Three Motels Suffer Roof Damage

Emergency assessment officials touring the island yesterday reported to the National Weather Service that three Wildwood motels endured sufficient damages to their roofs late last week.

The Caprice (4200 Ocean Ave.), Knoll's (4111 Atlantic Ave.), and Ocean Sands (3701 Ocean Ave.) all had portions of their roofs "blown off" according to the report.

The damage was estimated to have occurred between 11 p.m. Thursday and 3 a.m. Friday, when winds in the area reached as high as 60 mph.

No substantial damages to other motels have been reported to this point.
