Relief Could Be On The Way...

Federal and state officials will arrive to tour the Wildwoods and other NJ shoreline communities today to assess the destruction caused by the weekend storm, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Representatives from FEMA and the Army Corp of Engineers will also be on hand to inspect the damage.

The need for relief will be determined and, hopefully, expedited, after Gov. John Corzine declare a state of emergency in Cape May County and five other counties on Sunday evening.

Also, check out Photo #4 of the attached gallery, which shows an aerial view of the beach from Schellenger Ave., looking south. It's surreal to see Mariner's Landing, Adventure Pier, and the Convention Center virtually surrounded by water. There is no word at this point on potential damages at Morey's Piers.
