Six years after the debut of its original stand, the Chillin Pineapple will open a second location on the Wildwood Boardwalk this spring.
The popular treat spot is set to expand to 3316 Boardwalk, the decades-long home of Eleanor's Gift Shop (and Shore Donut Cones the past two summers).
According to co-owner Joseph Gaspero, the new spot will feature acai bowls, in addition to favorites like Dole Whip and a variety of fresh fruit creations, smoothies, iced coffees, and dairy free/vegan ice cream flavors.
"Opening a second location on the Boardwalk gives us the freedom to try out some new things, to be just a little different," he said. "We're excited to add acai bowls to our menu, along with some other possibilities we're working on."
The Chillin Pineapple arrived during the infamous Summer of 2020, as part of the first phase of the revitalization of the Boardwalk Mall, which also included the additions of Capt'n Jack's Island Grill and Playa Bowls to the front of the building.
The first spot on the island to offer Dole Whip - a traditional Disney Theme Parks treat - it quickly established itself as one of the more unique frozen dessert spots on the Boardwalk, and has since built up an enthusiastic fanbase.
This success led to the creation of a second seasonal location at 266 96th Street in Stone Harbor in 2022 - as well as the introduction of a "totally chill" mascot, Pineapple Pete!
The opening of the second Wildwood Boardwalk location gives the Chillin Pineapple three different locations for Summer 2026. The original (Boardwalk Mall) and Stone Harbor spots will be open for Easter Weekend, while the new store is targeting a mid-May start.
"While the two [Boardwalk] stores will have slight differences, they'll both have lots of menu options and the same service and quality our customers have come to expect," said Gaspero. "It's because of those who have supported us over the past six years that we've been able to expand.
"The best thing about having two Chillin Pineapple locations on the Boardwalk is that we're now centrally located on both of the busiest stretches of the Boardwalk, a short walking distance from all three amusement piers. So, whatever direction you're coming from or going it, we'll be nearby!"
