Bonfire on the Beach in North Wildwood to feature live broadcast of Phillies playoff game

Planning on attending this weekend's Bonfire on the Beach in North Wildwood, but also hoping to catch the Philadelphia Phillies' playoff game at the same time?

You won't have to choose!

The organizers of the event have announced that a 20-foot screen will be set up to broadcast Game 4 of the National League Championship Series, as the Fightin' Phils play host to the San Diego Padres.

Sponsored by the Anglesea Irish Society and the Greater Wildwood Jaycees, the 11th Annual Bonfire on the Beach takes place Saturday, October 22, from 6 - 10 pm at 1st & Surf Avenues.

Admission is $10 (only $2 for kids under 12).

Live musical entertainment will be featured, with food and refreshments available for purchase. Attendees are encouraged to bring a beach chair or blanket, and to dress appropriately.

The forecast for Saturday evening looks clear, with a potential low near 50 degrees. A rain date of Saturday, November 5 has been set, just in case.

For over a decade now, this event has offered a fun, family-oriented opportunity for locals and visitors to unwind upon the conclusion of the extended tourist season. Last weekend, the Wildwoods played host to '50s, '60s & '70s Weekend, which traditionally signals the conclusion of the island's major events calendar. The majority of seasonal businesses, including Morey's Piers, are now closed until Spring 2023.

The Bonfire on the Beach marks the passage into the holiday season, with a number of festive, community-centered events to look forward to.
