The Wildwoods celebrate American racing heritage during "The Race of Gentlemen" Vintage Car & Motorcycle Beach Races – September 29 - October 2

PRESS RELEASE

THE WILDWOODS - Experience "The Race of Gentlemen" Vintage Car & Motorcycle Beach Drag Races, an automotive carnival that celebrates American racing heritage and an homage to automobile and motorcycle history - Thursday, September 29 through Sunday, October 2.

Stultz & Son Productions presents "The Race of Gentlemen," which features pre-1934 cars and pre-1947 motorcycles racing along the water's edge on the Wildwoods' spacious beaches.

"The Race of Gentlemen," commonly referred to as TROG for short, is a one-of-a-kind vintage hot rod and motorcycle beach drag racing event and festival born from the shared interests of a group of passionate purveyors of speed and pays tribute to a style of racing that evokes the ghosts of yesteryear.

The popular event pays tribute to a style of acing that evokes a bygone era when hand-built pre-WWII cars and motorcycles were pieced together in backyards and garages, then tested and proven in races on the flat, hard sand of the beach.

"We couldn't be more thrilled to be celebrating ten years of The Race of Gentlemen," said Mel Stultz, Founder of The Race of Gentlemen. "The annual Wildwood event has become truly legendary, drawing thousands of people each year. We anticipate this year to be even more successful and we will have lots of surprises in store for everyone.

"We also cannot wait to announce more details about our future TROG events coming to California and the UK very soon. Our goal is to bring the TROG experience to a broader crew of vintage car and motorcycle revivalists and enthusiasts at destinations all around the world."

The tenth anniversary of TROG in Wildwood will feature thrilling, non-stop exhibition-style beach racing, live music, a kids' area, food and beer vendors, and much more. This year, The Race of Gentlemen is proud to welcome its newest sponsor, American Metal Customs, and their team of passionate fabricators, technicians, designers and metal workers.

On Thursday, September 29, a swap meet will be held from 9 am to 10 pm at Baker Avenue beach.

On Friday, the swap meet continues from 9 am to 6 pm at Back Avenue beach.

Saturday is Race Day, which features vintage auto and motorcycle races on the beach. Gates open at 7:30 am and racing begins around 8 am, or when the ocean tide goes out. A post-race beach party will be held from 8 pm to midnight.

More beach racing takes place on Sunday with gates opening at 7:30 am. Don't miss the Gentlemen going head-to-head for the winning title!

Bracket racing begins late morning, once the machines warm up.

All attendees 16 years old and up need a valid paid ticket to enter TROG. All kids 15 and under are free all weekend. Please be prepared to show proof of age onsite. Please note: all minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent and/or guardian.
