It's been a busy month or so for new business announcements in the Wildwoods, but even with such an active, promising scene, McCoy's Coffee & Cereal Bar is sure to be a standout.
Set to open this May at 1710 New York Avenue (the previous home of Junior's Beef & Pork, next door to 18th Street Laundromat), McCoy's looks to blend the traditional aspects of an Irish coffee house with some new and unique concepts.
According to owners Scott and Jackie McCoy, the shop will offer a variety of coffees, teas, bagels and sandwiches, including daily blackboard specials for breakfast and lunch.
At the cereal bar, McCoy's will serve up 20 different flavors and varieties of breakfast cereal, in addition to homemade cereal-topped donuts. Imported candy and chocolates from Ireland will also be sold.
McCoy's plans to be open seven days a week during the summer season, from 7 am to 1:30 pm. While the shop will specialize in takeout options, indoor seating will also be available.
