Crest Savings Bank helps commemorate local landmark

PRESS RELEASE

WILDWOOD - Crest Savings Bank once again renewed its annual sponsorship of the Starlight Ballroom and its beautiful commemorative sign at the Wildwoods Convention Center. The memory of the beloved local landmark that entertained teenagers for several generations has been kept alive by the Greater Wildwood Tourism Improvement District Authority (GWTIDA) since 2006, when the Convention Center's ballroom was named in its honor.

When GWTIDA originally brought the idea to Crest Savings Bank's Board of Directors, the bank enthusiastically agreed to partner in the project. Crest Savings Bank's substantial pledge was enough to fund the rebirth of the Starlight Ballroom. The bank's contribution paid for the beautiful art-deco neon sign now displayed in the Convention Center's entryway.

The funds also help to offset the ballroom's operating costs. GWTIDA board members who held this project close to their hearts were grateful to the bank for being the first to step forward and ensure its realization.

Since it establishment in 1919, Crest Savings Bank has served many generations and witnessed much history. Tony DeSalle, Crest Savings Bank President and CEO noted, "We are proud to partner with GWTIDA in helping to commemorate this historical icon. This sponsorship will go a long way in helping to preserve the many wonderful memories which are associated with the Starlight Ballroom."
