PRESS RELEASE
WILDWOOD - American Legion Post 184 is proud to announce a fall and winter season of community efforts. Following the success of last year's turkey giveaway and toy drive, the Post looks to continue the events with greater success.
For decades, the veterans have supported the community with fundraising and donations. With the pandemic still looming, they know the support is needed now more than ever.
Starting with some fun, the Legion will once again host Halloween Bingo. On October 27, with doors opening at 5:30 pm and the bingo game at 7:30, players are encouraged to dress up to win gift cards and prizes for best costumes.
In November, Post 184 will focus on a giveaway of turkeys with all the fixings. Any family in need in Wildwood, Middle Township or Lower Township will be able to apply for the donation. A whole turkey, a can of gravy, jellied cranberry sauce, canned corn and a pie will be provided to registered families on November 24.
Bringing the Christmas spirit, the second annual toy drive will continue along with Christmas dinner giveaway. This event will be combined with the Post's Kids Christmas Party. In years past, the party was to show appreciation to the members' families by hosting an event for the kids and grandkids.
This year, the event will be split into two: the first hour for members of the Post and the second hour for families registered with the toy and food giveaways. These events will be held on December 18.
More events, including holiday-themed bingo, the indoor yard sale and craft shows (and more), will be announced in the coming weeks.
The community is asked to support the community efforts by donating towards the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner giveaways or purchasing a toy off the Amazon wish list.
More information on both events will be available closer to the dates.
